雪の日の朝、まだ誰も歩いていない雪の上を歩くのが好きです。そんな日には、私より早起きの散歩の犬の足跡とか、小鳥の足跡を見かけることがあります。そんな小さな足跡が残る雪の上をイメージして、こんなマットがあったらかわいいかな〜と思って制作しました。

二宮町の吾妻山の途中にある休憩所には、一面芝桜の場所があります。
でも芝桜よりも緑の方が多くて、山を整備するおじいさんいわく「今年はちょっとやる気がない」そう。そんなゆるい空気。緑と紫とピンクのコントラストがきれいで、町ののんびりとした時間を感じながら制作しました。

Around early summer, many beautiful orange garden trees were blooming along the walking path. After looking up their name, I found out they're called trumpet vines. Oh, so this is the flower from Yuko Ando's song! That conversation led to me making this. I made it while listening to the song—it's such a nice tune, isn't it?

There was a sketch scribbled in my sketchbook, along with a dog sitting in a strange position and a note.
Dogs sometimes sit like big sisters, don't they? I wonder if I drew this because I found it so endearing. I feel like older dogs often sit this way. There's a different kind of cuteness to older dogs compared to when they were young, isn't there?

A kingfisher lives in the nearby river, and spotting it on my morning walk feels lucky. I even got binoculars for watching it. The female’s lower beak is slightly red, and its sharp “pee-ee” call always makes me happy.

This year, ducks raised their young in the nearby river. The three tiny ducklings grew visibly larger in just about a month, soon surpassing their mother duck in size. Though their bodies grew, I still see the three siblings swimming together happily. Their mother always swims behind them, watching over them.

When I was in college, I lived with my chubby Miniature Pinscher, Chico. He’d sprawl on the cool floor in summer and hated having his photo taken, so few pictures remain. This piece is based on one I took by chance, shaped while remembering his dear, gray-flecked face.

Nago, the Tiger cat who wandered into my parents' house, couldn't find an owner, and just became part of our family. Even though he was a cat, he'd come over meowing when you called his name. He was plump, big, and did whatever he wanted. He'd knead my mom's futon while purring. He was so adorable. I was a dog person, but thanks to Nago, I grew to love cats. He journeyed to heaven in 2024, but I made this to ensure I never forget my beloved Nago.

The Tamagawa Josui canal in Tokyo was close to where I lived back then, and I loved taking walks there. That's where I saw these ducks. At first there was just one, but then another joined it, and they swam along together. I wondered if the ducks had planned to meet up, and it seemed so cute that I made this.
